Vinod Shantilal Adani Is The Sixth Richest Indian In This Rich List 

The top ten richest Indians list, which was announced on Wednesday by IIFL Wealth and Hurun, includes a second Adani. With a net worth of $1.69 trillion, Gautam Adani's elder brother Vinod Shantilal is currently the sixth richest Indian.

He is a resident of Dubai and, according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, which was published yesterday, he rose from eighth to sixth place in the past year.

According to the report, Vinod Shantilal Adani and family had a 9.5-fold increase in wealth over the same period of time as Gautam Adani and his family's wealth increased by 15.4 times.

Vinod Shantilal Adani's ranking increased from 49th place in 2018 to sixth place this year in the last five years, while Gautam Adani's ranking rose from eighth place to the top spot.

In the previous year, the older Adani's net worth climbed by 28%, or $36,969 crore. According to the Hurun report, he has been daily accruing more than 102 crore in wealth since 2021.

“From an Indian wealth creation perspective, 2022 will be remembered for Adani’s meteoric rise. Briskly expanding his commodity trading company into coal–to–port-to-energy conglomerate, he is the only Indian to have built not one, but seven companies with a market cap of one lakh crore,”  according to Anas Rahman Junaid, MD and principal researcher, Hurun India.

The combined wealth of the two Adani brothers totals 12,63,400 crore or approximately 40% of the top 10 individuals on the Hurun India Rich List 2022.
