Uber to Hire 500 Techies for India Tech Centres

On Wednesday, popular cab service provider,
Uber Technologies
informed that by the end of this year, they plan to hire around 500 techies under a fresh round of recruitment for its India tech centres. Currently, the ride-hailing firm has a 1,000-member tech team across its centres located in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
The cab service provider,
in a statement, told that the hiring plan highlights Uber's commitment to India and its recognition of the
engineering talent
present in the country. The company aims to onboard 500 more tech employees by December. In the year 2021, Uber Technologies hired around 250 engineers to its India teams. Lately, Uber Technologies has been expanding its teams at all its tech centres around the globe, including the
US, Canada, Latin America, and Amsterdam, and
at its twin centres in India situated in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Also, earlier this week, the cab company inaugurated a new floor at its Bengaluru centre.
Uber decided to recruit new members in order to enhance its services however, a few days back, several cab service providers including Uber and Ola were called for a meeting by the
Central Consumer Protection Authority,
warned of stern actions by the
Government of India,
amid rising complaints against these
ride-hailing firms by the consumers.
