Twitter To Include Multiple Media Types In A Single Tweet
News Synopsis
Twitter, a platform for micro blogging, is developing a new function that will enable users to attach files in several formats to a single tweet.
An image, video, or GIF can all be added to a single tweet using this functionality. People who have used Twitter for any length of time are aware that the firm has thus far supported only one type of media attachment, according to GSM Arena. Users are permitted to attach up to four photographs, but there was no method to combine videos, GIFs, or more than one to a single image.
The maximum of four media types is still allowed with this update, but users can now have any mix of photos, videos, and audio.
"We're testing a new feature with select accounts for a limited time that will allow people to mix up to four media assets into a single tweet, regardless of format," said Twitter. "We're seeing people have more visual conversations on Twitter and are using images, GIFs and videos to make these conversations exciting. With this test, we're hoping to learn how people combine these different media formats to express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond the 280 characters."
The feature will only be accessible to selected accounts in specified regions, as is customary for Twitter experiments. When, if ever, the feature will be made available to all users is yet unknown.
