Randhir Thakur, a former executive of Intel Foundry Services, became CEO and Managing Director of Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd on April 18. Dr.Thakur has been an international inventor in the semiconductor sector for more than 5 years while working with Intel.

He has more than 40 years of expertise in worldwide production, as well as research and development, says the company. At Applied Materials Inc., SanDisk Corp., STEAG Electronic Systems, Micron Technology Inc., as well as other companies, he held executive and technical responsibilities. As a new business venture of the Tata group, Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd (TEPL) was established in 2020. It specializes in producing precision components and has plans to enter the semiconductor fabrication and packaging markets. Tata Electronics has a promising future ahead of it, and Thakur's extensive expertise and multifunctional experience will be beneficial to the business.

He has extensive experience leading ecosystems, managing joint ventures, driving mergers and acquisitions, and developing products while closely working with ecosystem partners and clients, it was said.

With its main production site situated in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, India, TEPL is basically an electronic component manufacturing company and is a greenfield investment of the conglomerate.

The salt-to-software company wants to establish a foothold in the nation's assembly and precision machining market through TEPL.
