Paytm Starts Laying Platform Fee on Recharges

In a big blow to the customers Paytm has announced that users will have to pay an extra charge for recharging through Paytm. The charge can be anywhere between Rs 1 to Rs 6, depending on the recharge amount. According to a report, this will be applicable to all types of recharge on Paytm, even if the recharge is done from Paytm Wallet.
Currently, the update is not been implemented for all users. For those to whom the update is available will be charged a convenience fee. Last year Paytm's rival PhonePe also started charging a surcharge for mobile recharge during a testing. Along with this, many users have also claimed on Twitter that Paytm has started charging surcharges as a convenience fee.
Paytm is an Indian digital payments and financial services company, which was inaugurated in 2010 and is the owner of One97 Communications, which is initially used to recharge mobile and DTH. The headquarter of this company is in Noida, India. It has gradually started providing electricity bills, gas bills as well as recharging, and bill payments of various portals.
