News Synopsis

On October 19, a major manufacturer of FMCG and food items Nestlé India, announced the launch of MyNestle, its direct-to-consumer platform. With the announcement, the company has joined the ranks of HUL, ITC, Marico, and other companies that have already previously launched their D2C platforms.

Nestlé India, a leader in FMCG and packaged food goods, has joined the direct-to-consumer (D2C) movement with the introduction of MyNestlé, an e-commerce platform where customers can buy all Nestle products. Along with its quarterly earnings for the third quarter ended in September, the company officially announced the launch. The financial year for Nestle India is from January to December.

In a news release, Suresh Narayanan, chairman and managing director of Nestlé India, said, “To serve our valued consumers when and where it matters, I am delighted to announce the launch of our first ever D2C platform – www.mynestle.in,”

On its platform, the company plans to provide curated product bundles, custom gifts, discounts, and subscriptions. On the platform, customers may test out gourmet meals and receive free nutrition advice.

MyNestlé will launch in Delhi NCR first before moving on to other parts of the country.

Nestlé India has joined a group of companies, such as Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Marico, Emami, etc., that have already introduced their D2C platforms in the Indian market with this announcement.

With the emergence of several new-age companies, including Mamaearth, Plum Goodness, and Licious, who have recently reached a significant scale by reaching out to consumers directly through e-commerce instead of through traditional means that were deployed, such as distributors and retailers, FMCG majors have upped their D2C game. In addition to developing D2C platforms, the corporations also introduce products designed especially for their D2C channels or even brands that are only available online.
