According to Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh on Monday the Global Clean Energy Action Forum conference gives India the chance to share Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision with the world at large.

As the leader of a high-level joint ministerial official delegation, the minister spoke with the media previous to his five-day journey to the US. He said that the forum will bring together all the stakeholders, including at least 30 ministers from different nations, hundreds of CEOs and business leaders, scientists, and academicians. It is also a celebration of India's leadership position in matters pertaining to renewable energy challenges.

The updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for India to be reported to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was agreed by the Union cabinet, taken by the prime minister, last month, according to Singh (UNFCCC).

India expressed a wish to step up its climate action at the COP26 session in Glasgow in November 2021 by introducing the world to its five primary elements.

On India's 75th Independence Day, the prime minister launched the National Hydrogen Mission, the minister said. The mission seeks to make India a green hydrogen center and assist the government in achieving its climate goals. This will support the expansion of renewable energy capacity and the achievement of the goal of producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Ministry of Heavy Industries (which implements the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India (FAME INDIA) scheme to promote electric vehicles), he tried to claim, have been largely the driving forces behind India's effort in this direction since no single ministry is responsible for moving India towards net zero.

Singh expressed his excitement for close interactions at the Global Clean Energy Action Forum's plenary and roundtable discussions, particularly in light of recent developments in the field of clean energy technologies both nationally and internationally.

India has the potential to become a global leader in green hydrogen," said Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.

On Friday, he stated that the country's "undivided energies" should be spent to fulfill the country's aim of lowering emissions. However, India needs a "proactive approach," according to the Union Minister of Science and Technology. "Green hydrogen will not only enable us to decrease emissions but would also help India across different sectors and meet PM Modi's aim of our nation being self-sufficient," he says.

The time has come for India to become a Green Hydrogen Hub, not just for the benefit of India, but for the good of our entire world. As a result, we have the ability and opportunity to facilitate clean hydrogen energy for a better society." Singh added his two cents: The ministry also developed a National Hydrogen Portal. The platform covers hydrogen research, production, storage, transportation, and application.
