The SGX Nifty was trading at 17,771 at 7:45 a.m. up more than a percent or 160 points. Following global market downturns, Indian stock markets lost 1% on Wednesday. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific stocks increased 1.17 percent outside of Japan. On Thursday, oil prices fell for the second time, driven down by an unexpected increase in US oil stockpiles. The Indian rupee has dropped to its lowest level since April, while the benchmark 10-year bond has dropped to its lowest level in nearly a year and a half. The partially convertible rupee concluded at 74.9750/9850 per dollar after reaching 74.9875, its lowest level since April 23. On Wednesday, bitcoin reached its highest level in five months, as market optimism increased.
