India and US to collaborate on creating resilient supply chains

The US Trade Representative informed Congress that to address the global issue of supply chain disruptions, the United States is planning to partner with India to create a resilient supply chain system. They are also likely to encourage a transparent rules-based trading system for market economies and democracies. The US Trade Representative in its statement said: "The United States and India will also collaborate on building resilient supply chains and promoting a transparent, rules-based trading system for market economies and democracies.” While presenting the Annual Report of last year to Congress USTR informed that the United States and India share a strong relationship in trade and businesses. The importance of supply chains was first realized in the year 2020 when the pandemic hit the world. Both the countries have emphasized on the importance of an effective and diversified supply chain network. During the Trade Policy Forum, organized in November 2021, the United States and India voiced out their opinion and addressed the key issues in the trade sector. Other than the supply chain crisis, both the countries will also cooperate in the areas of labour, environment, digital trade.
