News Synopsis

Google has announced the launch of a program for women, named the Startup Accelerator Program. This program will promote around 20 startups led by women founders in India. The program aims to help women founders tackle challenges that are unique to their experience and will be different. Fundraising & Hiring are the main ones in this.

In addition, the program includes AI/ML, Cloud, UX, Android, Web, Product Strategy and Development as well as workshops and support to provide access to a global community of women. Let us tell you that India is the third-largest startup hub in the world, which is behind only America and China. More than 100 unicorns have been made in the country, out of which 22 unicorns have been made in 2022 alone.

Significantly, 15% of Indian unicorns have one or more female founders. Google's new program is part of a larger effort to improve the representation of women in various segments of India's digitally trained workforce. The last date to apply for this program is 10th July.
