Demand for Delivery Executives on the Rise

Demand for Delivery Executives has increased in India. As the demand for Online and e-commerce services increases, companies such as Zomato, BigBasket, Ecom Express, Shadowfax, and Swiggy have ramped up their delivery executives' manpower in order to meet the increasing demand. According to various reports, around 4,00,000 jobs will be created in this sector in the next three months. These jobs will be spread across grocery and food deliveries, medicines, apparel, and fashion and will be a mix of regular and gig workers. Shadowfox Technologies which works with online marketplaces such as Flipkart Quick, Zepto, BigBasket, and Swiggy Instamart, told that it intends to increase its hiring of delivery agents by three times in 2022 compared to 2021. Co-founder of the company, Abhishek Bansal said: “Online and on-demand tech-backed gig marketplace for instant deliveries will drive more demand considering the shift in purchasing behaviors. The sector is constantly evolving, and delivery agents are a crucial part of it. With this, we are expecting more demand in the near future.” Popular Food Delivery Platform, Zomato, which recently announced its 10-minute delivery service is also planning to hire new delivery executives.
