News Synopsis

Delhivery, the top logistics company in India, announced on Tuesday that it has teamed up with eSamudaay, a provider of software solutions, to help rural companies grow by catering to clients all over India.

A tech-enabled platform called TyohaarForever has been introduced by Bengaluru-based eSamudaay to curate India's broad selection of hyperlocal goods made by regional artisans.

The platform allowed the first round of cross-country orders for Tenacious Bee Collective's raw, unpasteurized Himalayan Honey. As an illustration,  Delhivery stated that their field representative picked up the goods from Jia valley in the Himachal Pradeshi Kangra area in order to convey them to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

A startup called Tenacious Bee Collective unites local farmers, apiarists, and scientists on one platform. Their objectives are to increase local beekeepers' incomes and promote the consumption of raw, unpasteurized honey. According to the announcement, Tenacious Bee Collective is in the process of joining the ONDC network.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ONDC, T Koshy, said, "ONDC, with its agenda of democratising digital commerce, aims to bring the smallest of sellers onto the network and provides them with a level playing field. I'm delighted to see two network participants — Delhivery and eSamudaay — enable 'Tenacious Bee Collective,' a small company from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh on-board onto ONDC to take its products to customers across India."

Chief Operating Officer of Delhivery, Ajith Pai, said: "We are excited to collaborate with ONDC network enablers such as eSamudaay to open up new vistas... With Delhivery's technology-enabled, fully-integrated logistics solutions, entrepreneurs and businesses from the remotest villages and settlements can serve customers across the country. India has huge demand from different tiers of economy, and ONDC will truly unlock the growth potential of digital commerce in India."

The ONDC is an initiative of the ministry of commerce and industry's department for the promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT).
