Dave Clark Lands New Job as CEO of a Supply-Chain Startup
News Synopsis
Dave Clark, the CEO of Amazon's consumer business, has a new job lined up for when he leaves: advising an up-and-coming supply-chain startup.
Flexport CEO Ryan Petersen announced on Twitter on Wednesday that Clark would join him as co-CEO of the company in September. Petersen stated that he intends to step back into the role of executive chairman and that the former Amazon executive will become the sole CEO of the company after a six-month transition period.
The announcement comes after Clark announced on Friday that he would be leaving Amazon on July 1 after 23 years with the company. At the time, the executive stated that he wanted to contribute to the creation of something new.
Clark said in an email to employees, which he shared on Twitter said, "As much as I have loved the ride, it is time for me to say goodbye to start a new journey. For some time, I have discussed my intent to transition out of Amazon and with my family and others close to me, but I wanted to ensure the teams were set up for success. I feel confident that time is now."
