National Aviation Services likely to takeover Menzies Aviation

One of the biggest ground services companies in Scotland- Menzies Aviation is likely to be taken over by the Kuwait-based National Aviation Services (NAS). The Edinburgh-based company is currently active in 37 countries around the globe. National Aviation services majorly operate in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. It is a subsidiary company of Agility. Menzies Aviation was earlier in the bookselling business. The firm was started in 1833 by John Menzies when he started selling Charles Dickens’ books and newspapers on the streets of Scotland and eventually it become one of the biggest newspaper distributors in Britain. The company entered in the aviation sector in 1987. It suffered heavy losses as Air transportation was disrupted in the pandemic. However, it still remained one of the biggest businesses in the country. Kuwait’s National Air Service is all set to takeover Menzies Aviation for 560 million pounds.
