News Synopsis

Despite having no arms Chinese para-swimmer  Zhang Tao has won the internet after shattering records and winning back to back four gold medals at the Tokyo games. Zhang, who lost his arms to an electric shock in his childhood dominated with the golds in freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly category. Zhang was thankful to everyone and said that he was glad to present his country in Tokyo Paralympics as this was the last time he would be participating in the Paralympics.

People call him a ‘’source of pride’’ and a “true inspiration” over social media. According to the reports, Zhang trained himself for Paralympic games by at least swimming for 10km every day. At the age of 13, he took up the sport and made his debut six years later at the World Championships in the Netherlands. He then went on to win his first-ever Paralympic gold medal at London 2012 in a 100m backstroke event.
