Google signs new deal with French newspapers

News Synopsis

The United States based Tech giant- Google Incorporation has come to an agreement with a trade association that comprises of 300 French Newspapers, on Thursday. Both Google and the trade association had a dispute over the issue of content publishing rights. The negotiations between both the groups were going on from the month of September last year. In a joint statement by both the groups they informed that with this agreement, it can be said that the negotiations over the payment issues to newspapers for using their content in Google Search Results have come to a unanimous positive result. In the month of January this year, Google and the association of French Newspaper informed that they both have agreed to a copyright framework for the tech company. This was the first of a kind of agreement in Europe that shall make individual licensing agreements possible. The latest agreement with Google and the French Newspaper association states: “The latest agreement sets out the principles under which Google will negotiate individual license agreements and terms of remuneration with Alliance members"
