News Synopsis

The central government will increase the number of technology centres, according to Union Minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, who made the announcement on Sunday. These centers would give MSMEs the necessary tools, skilled employees, and consulting services to help them develop.

The two-day 'MSME Technology Centers Conclave' was launched today by Union Minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma , the union minister of state for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), who emphasised the important role this sector played during the COVID-19 crisis.

"The MSME sector plays a major role in the development of manufacturing as well as services and contributes significantly to the growth of the Indian economy. MSMEs also generate the largest employment after the agriculture sector,"  he stated. According to Mr.Verma, the technology centres that the Ministry of MSME established across the nation serve as accelerators for industry growth and integrated development by supplying high-quality tools, skilled people, and consulting services.

Because the MSME sector is so competitive in the international market, the ministry is working to establish more of these technology centres all around the nation to meet its growing technological needs. According to the minister, these centres will also meet the demand for skilled labour that the MSME sector has in order to compete internationally and be self-sufficient at home.

The two-day conclave is planned to highlight the capabilities of these technology hubs and support MSMEs in the northeast. Modern machinery, testing equipment, and many services are provided to MSMEs at very reasonable prices in these facilities, according to Verma. The latest technologies, including 3D printing, CAD/CAM, CNC machines, vacuum heat treatment, robotics, and process automation, have been added to these centres as part of periodic investments made by the ministry to improve them, he continued.
