The platform has changed its name due to the increasing competition in the market. The new name, Blinkit suggests the quick delivery of the products within the blink of an eye.

Grofers is facing tough competition with Instamart, BigBasket, Dunzo, and Upstart Zepto. According to Aadit Palicha, the co-founder and CEO of Zepto, the market for Instant grocery has the potential to almost triple the number of orders as compared to food delivery.

With the rebranding, Blinkit is also planning to add more items for delivery instead of just groceries. It can include the delivery of electronics, cosmetics, and other things. The approach of the company is to provide anything that the customer needs within 10 minutes. Blinkit also benefits from the local information from its local partners.
