Ather Energy Sold 3,787 e-scooters in May 2022

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup Ather Energy announced sales records for May 2022. The company was able to sell 3,787 electric scooters in India last month. While Ather Energy's May 2021 sales are not available year-over-year, the EV maker has recorded high monthly sales in May 2022, recording a big achievement.

However, when compared on an MoM basis, Ather sold 3,779 units in April 2022, resulting in only 0.21% revenue growth. Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Executive Officer of Ather Energy, commented on this development saying, in May, Ather achieved the highest monthly sales ever. This underscores consumer confidence in the well-designed, reliable, and safe 450X and 450 Plus scooters."

In May 2022, Ather Energy partnered with Magenta to establish an EV charging network across India. Currently, Ather has installed more than 330 Ather Grid fast charging points in 35 cities nationwide and plans to install 5,000 more over the next three years.

The company also raised $128 million in Series E funding led by the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited's (NIIFL) Strategic Opportunities Fund (SOF) and HeroMoto Corp.
