Youtube plans to launch monetization features initially in India
News Synopsis
During the recent December quarter earnings press release held a couple of days ago, Google CEO said that Youtube plans to release monetization features first in India before expanding them globally. The video-sharing and streaming platform has been on an expansion spree in the last few years. In a bid to acquire the emerging short videos market, it has also launched “shorts” that allow users to post short-length videos somewhat similar to Instagram reels and other similar applications. Sundar Pichai stated that they are receiving positive reactions in newer areas of Youtube such as Podcasts, Gaming, etc. With the launch of monetary features initially in India before global expansion by the alphabet-owned company, it can be also seen as a trial to observe users responses to it before further investment.
