News Synopsis

Royal Enfield revved into action on July 17th, 2024, with the launch of its highly anticipated premium roadster, the Guerrilla 450. This exciting new motorcycle boasts a starting price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and is set to shake up the mid-size roadster segment in India. Bookings for the Guerrilla 450 commenced on the launch day, with test rides and retail sales kicking off on August 1st, 2024.

Guerrilla 450 Takes on the Mid-size Roadster Segment

The Guerrilla 450 enters a competitive playing field, ready to rival established names like the Harley-Davidson X440, Triumph Speed 400, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, and the Hero Mavrick 440. Built upon the robust Sherpa platform, which also underpins the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 promises a unique blend of performance and Royal Enfield's signature character.

Power and Performance of the Guerrilla 450

Royal Enfield equips the Guerrilla 450 with a potent 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine. This powerhouse delivers a maximum power output of 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm, ensuring a thrilling ride for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. (Royal Enfield's parent company), expressed his enthusiasm for the new launch: "The Guerrilla 450 is our interpretation of the modern roadster concept, and we're extremely pleased with the final product. While it shares the Himalayan's platform, the Guerrilla 450 is tuned for a dynamic roadster experience, offering a thrillingly different ride."

Guerrilla 450 Variant Options and Features

Royal Enfield offers the Guerrilla 450 in three distinct variants: Analogue (starting at Rs 2.39 lakh), Dash (Rs 2.49 lakh), and Flash (Rs 2.54 lakh) - all ex-showroom prices. These variants cater to diverse rider preferences and come in a range of five colour options to suit individual styles.

The instrument cluster gets a modern upgrade, with the Analogue variant featuring a semi-digital console with Tripper navigation, while the Dash and Flash variants boast a full-TFT display similar to the Himalayan 450. This provides riders with a clear and comprehensive view of ride data and essential information.

B. Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, elaborated on the development philosophy: "When we embarked on the Sherpa 450 platform, we envisioned not just an adventure tourer but also a superior roadster that would embody the Royal Enfield spirit. The Guerrilla 450 is the realization of that vision - a characterful and confidence-inspiring roadster. Developed alongside the Himalayan, the Guerrilla 450 is perfectly suited for both city commutes and exhilarating weekend getaways on winding roads."

A Global Debut: Royal Enfield GRR 450 Prepares for International Markets

For motorcycle enthusiasts in Latin America and other overseas markets, the Guerrilla 450 will be known as the Royal Enfield GRR 450. The GRR 450 will carry a price tag of £4,850 in the UK and €5,290 MSRP in Germany. European markets can expect retail sales to begin mid-August 2024.

In conclusion, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 marks a significant entry into the competitive mid-size roadster segment. Built on a proven platform and boasting a powerful engine, the Guerrilla 450 promises an exciting riding experience. With multiple variants, a range of features, and a competitive price point, Royal Enfield caters to a diverse range of riders. The Guerrilla 450 isn't just for the Indian market either, with the GRR 450 variant gearing up to take on the global stage.
