Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96. She breathed her last at Balmoral Palace in Scotland. Buckingham Palace, United Kingdom has informed that Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral this afternoon. Charles, now King Charles III, paid tribute to his beloved mother. Charles has now ascended to the throne.The King and Camilla, who is now the Queen Consort, spent Thursday night at Balmoral and will fly back to London on Friday.

Queen Elizabeth had been suffering health problems since October last year. Prime Minister Liz Truss of Britain has paid tribute to the longest-reigning Queen Elizabeth II after her death. He said in his statement that the late Queen has left behind a great legacy and has also provided "stability and strength" to the country. He said Britain was shocked by the death of the Queen. She was like a 'rock' on which modern Britain was built.

All of the Queen's children, along with Prince William, who will now be known as the Duke of Cambridge and Cornwall as the heir apparent, left right away to be with her.The official appointment of the next Prime Minister, Liz Truss, on Tuesday in Balmoral was her last official act. The four children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II survived.
