Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset expected to launch in May 2022

Qualcomm is working on its new chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to reports from GizmoChina, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 may already be in development. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is being manufactured by some of the popular smartphone manufacturers.  

The reports also state that the release date for the next chipset could be within the second quarter of 2022. It is expected to be better as compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as well as MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000. 

The Weibo tipster also suggested that the USA-based company is taking the development of new chipset at a fast pace, as a response to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000. The reports also say that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 can be a batch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was ported to TMSC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) taking the global chip crisis into consideration.
