Netflix Unveils New Features To Premium Plan Members
News Synopsis
The world's largest streaming service, Netflix, has announced new features that will be available to subscribers who are already on the Premium plan, decide to upgrade, or are signing up for the first time, at no additional cost.
Two new features were released by the company: spatial audio and more download devices. When using a phone, tablet, or TV at home or on the go, Netflix Premium members will be able to experience the highest quality sound possible due to Spatial Audio.
The major streaming service stated that "spatial audio brings an immersive, cinematic sound experience on any device with no additional equipment required — and now it's available on more than 700 of our top watched titles, including 'Stranger Things', 'The Watcher', 'Wednesday', and 'Knives Out: Glass Onion'".
The company also stated that Netflix subscribers enjoy having access to the option of downloading series and movies to watch them offline on a range of devices, especially when they are traveling and switching between devices.
In order to enable this, Netflix introduced the "more download devices" option, which will increase the number of download devices for premium members from four to six, allowing users to access Netflix on their devices whenever and wherever they want.
The streaming juggernaut shared its policies and exceptions in the meantime to describe how it intends to keep account sharing within a household. The company has updated its FAQ pages for Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru, where it is already testing additional membership fees for account sharing.
This year, the company wants to discourage account sharing by adding extra fees for prolonged use of the streaming service outside the home.
