Netflix Acquires Boss Fight Entertainment

News Synopsis

Popular OTT platform- Netflix announced that it has acquired a Texas-based mobile game studio, Boss Fight Entertainment. The mobile game studio was created by former Zynga Dallas and Ensemble Studios employees in the year 2013. Currently, its CEO is David Rippy alongside, CCO is Bill Jackson and COO is Scott Winsett. Netflix's VP of game studios, Amir Rahimi in his statement after the acquisition said: "This studio's extensive experience building hit games across genres will help accelerate our ability to provide Netflix members with great games wherever they want to play them." The game studio will continue to operate out of its current studios in Allen, Texas, Austin, and Seattle. Earlier, Netflix has acquired Finland-based Next Games, which is also the developer of hugely-popular Stranger Things. Also, last year in the month of September, Netflix announced the acquisition of video game creator Night School Studio This was Netflix’s first purchase of a gaming studio. It acquired Night School Studio for an undisclosed sum.
