Microsoft increases conversation limits on Bing AI

With the latest update, users of Microsoft's recently released Bing AI can now chat with the chatbot's AI (artificial intelligence) for longer. Yusuf Mehdi, chief marketing officer for Microsoft's consumer division, says that Bing AI will now allow ten chats per session and 120 messages per day. Before, the company permitted one session-cap of six queries and a daily-cap of 60 messages.

The upgrade effectively allows users to send Bing AI nine additional queries after the initial chat. The user must refresh and restart the Bing AI chat after reaching the limit.

Mehdi also provides some preliminary statistics in a blog post. One-third of Bing's Daily Active Users (DAU) are new, according to the post, which notes that Bing has surpassed 100 million DAU. "Secondly," Mehdi continues,  "Secondly, not only are we seeing growth in new users, but we are seeing engagement growing as more people are conducting more searches daily."

According to Microsoft, two key drivers are fueling the expansion of Bing AI. The company asserts that Bing is improving and Edge is still seeing growth in usage "due to the introduction of the Prometheus model," which combines Microsoft's Bing web data and OpenAI language model to answer complex queries in a conversational way. OpenAI is the creator of the viral chatbot ChatGPT.

Microsoft has made it clear time and time again that it wants to compete with Google Search, the industry leader. Microsoft's ChatGPT-like Bing AI enables users to conduct standard or conversational searches for their queries. The latter simplifies complex queries by examining online results. Bing AI, like ChatGPT, is capable of writing social media posts, resolving mathematical issues, and editing written material. Microsoft is confident that Bing's newest feature will increase user engagement and completely transform the search engine industry.

The business is also giving other platforms access to Bing AI. For instance, the latest version of Windows 11 has a taskbar search feature powered by artificial intelligence. According to Microsoft, the search function on the taskbar in Windows 11 can identify solutions "faster than ever." The business has made it clear that, in contrast to the ChatGPT chatbot, Bing AI provides citations. Citations let readers know where the information came from so they may verify if it's true or not.

Google has also unveiled Bard, a tool comparable to ChatGPT and Bing AI. Google will also incorporate Bard to help people find straightforward solutions to difficult questions. Google's AI-powered chatbot is still not accessible to the general public, and the corporation has not provided any information about its release.
