Maruti Suzuki Reported a Dip of 4% in its Sales

News Synopsis

India's largest Automobile Manufacturers Company Maruti Suzuki India has recorded a decline of 3.96% in its sales taking it to 1,54,379 units in January 2022. Maruti said in a statement on Tuesday that in January 2021, the company had sold 1,60,752 cars. 

Apart from this, the company's domestic sales declined by 8% to 1,36,442 units last month, which was 1,48,307 units in the same month a year ago. Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement that the shortage of electronic components has had a minor impact on the production output of the vehicles, which are mainly sold in the domestic market. 

Similarly, sales in the compact segment, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, fell 7.1% to 71,472 units compared to 76,935 units in January 2021. Sales of the Ciaz Midsize Sedan increased from 1,347 to 1,666. January 2021.
