News Synopsis

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha had its theatrical debut on August 11. Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya both played prominent roles in the film, which was a Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' highly acclaimed 1994 film Forrest Gump. The boycott effort prevented the film from dominating the country's box office, despite the good ratings it received from experts. Laal Singh Chaddha, according to current reports, is breaking records in global markets.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the Advait Chandan-directed film has already surpassed Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 in foreign countries. In contrast to Gangubai Kathiawadi, who received $7.47 million from the international market, Laal Singh Chaddha received $7.5 million, or Rs. 59 crore.

The Kashmir Files ($5.7 million) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 ($5.88 million), both starring Kartik Aaryan, come after the first two films. Recall that the Telugu movie RRR, starring Jr. NTR. and Ram Charan, earned almost $20 million from overseas distribution.

For those who are unaware, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, which stars Alia Bhatt, was released in February of this year. The Kashmir Files and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 were both released in theatres within a little over a month. Laal Singh Chaddha has earned almost Rs 56 crore at home thus far. Recent sources claim that Aamir Khan is likewise heartbroken by the film's dismal box office performance. "Aamir worked very hard to make the best Forrest Gump he could. He took the rejection quite hard "Aamir's close pal told Bollywood Hungama.
