After its global unveiling at the LA Auto Show 2024, the SUV is expected to make its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Show on January 17. The Ioniq 9 is slated to launch in South Korea and North America in the first half of 2025, with additional markets to follow shortly after. It is built on the versatile E-GMP modular platform, which also underpins other Hyundai and Kia electric vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV9.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 Design Highlights

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 boasts a bold and futuristic design, making it the largest electric SUV in Hyundai’s lineup. Measuring 5,060mm in length, it surpasses the Kia EV9 by 45mm. The SUV’s design features angular lines with rounded corners and a prominent upright tailgate. Parametric pixel inserts are present in the headlamps and tail-lamps, contributing to the vehicle's distinctive look. The Ioniq 9 rides on 19-inch wheels, with optional 20- or 21-inch wheels. Customers can choose from 16 exterior color options and seven interior upholstery choices.

The Ioniq 9 is available in both Long Range (LR) and Performance trims with options for Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The vehicle is powered by a 110.3 kWh battery pack, which offers an impressive WLTP range of up to 620km. Charging is incredibly efficient, with the Ioniq 9 able to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350kW charger. The SUV supports both 400V and 800V charging systems, as well as a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature, enabling users to charge other electronic devices.

The LR RWD variant of the Ioniq 9 is equipped with a 218hp motor that propels the SUV from 0 to 100kph in 9.4 seconds and reaches 80-120kph in 6.8 seconds. The LR AWD version offers 95hp and 255Nm of torque, achieving 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds and 80-120kph in 4.8 seconds, delivering a combination of power and efficiency.
