Grindr Fined with €6.5 Million for Selling User Data to Advertisers

Grindr, a dating app, has been fined €6.5m for selling the data of its users to advertisers. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has claimed that the application broke the GDPS rules by sharing such data. The investigation took place based on a complaint filed in the Norwegian Consumer Council.
It has also come out that the users were forced to agree with the Privacy Policy of the application without mentioning that their data would be shared with the advertisers. The company fined amount was reduced after the company provided some information on its size and financial status.
