News Synopsis

In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a meeting of foreign ministers from around the world on India's expanding role in international affairs.

With his senior cabinet colleagues in attendance, PM Modi will speak to the foreign ministers of 40 major countries. The G20 foreign ministers' summit is expected to be one of the major meetings leading up to the final summit, which will take place in September of this year. PM Narendra Modi will preside over the event's organizing.

The Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chouhan, Foreign Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and three service chiefs will all present India's viewpoint on world affairs throughout the course of the three-day event.

Government sources claim that if the atmosphere at the meetings is deemed conducive, the world leaders would also prefer to find answers to the continuing global crisis, including the war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia might be utilised to discuss the ongoing problem in Europe even though Ukraine is not attending the meeting. India could possibly provide a suggestion for a solution.

Foreign ministers from significant international nations such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, and others are expected to attend the conclave.

Notwithstanding objections from the Pakistani side on this matter, the government will also convene a number of significant talks linked to the G20 foreign ministers meeting in the Kashmir Valley.
