News Synopsis
Jammu and Kashmir, where movie theatres were closed for years, have now got an open-air floating theatre in Dal Lake, Srinagar. It was inaugurated by Chief Secretary, Mr. Arun Kumar Mehta. A grand laser show was organized as a part of the event. The 1964 movie 'Kashmir ki Kali' played on the screen.
The people can now watch a movie sitting in a shikhara. It is a collaboration of the tourist department, Mission Youth J&K, and Smart City Srinagar. A Shikara rally was also organized to mark the event. It is a good idea to attract more tourists to the place and encourage houseboat business.
