News Synopsis

Adidas, the official kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team, has teamed up with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to launch the new Team India ODI jersey. This momentous occasion was celebrated at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai, where the new jersey was unveiled by Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. For the first time in cricketing history, the unveiling was done alongside the Indian Women’s Team, marking a significant milestone in the sport.

Commitment to Women in Sport

This historic event highlights both adidas’ commitment to women in sport and BCCI’s ongoing efforts to accelerate women’s representation in cricket. The new ODI jersey will be worn by the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team during their upcoming India vs West Indies bilateral series, set to begin on December 22, 2024. Following this, the Men’s team will also wear the jersey during the 2024 ICC Champions Trophy tournament early next year.

In its second year of partnership with BCCI, adidas continues to provide both the women’s and men’s teams with new match wear. Additionally, they are introducing an updated training and travel range for the Indian cricket teams.

Design Features and Technology

The new ODI jersey boasts a striking true-blue color, accented with a bold tricolour ombre effect on the sleeves, celebrating India's national pride and fervor. It is designed for optimal comfort during long matches, featuring a jacquard base fabric with a terry loop pattern for added comfort and durability. The jersey incorporates adidas’ Climacool+ technology, which enhances sweat absorption, ensuring players stay cool and dry throughout the match.

In line with adidas' commitment to sustainability, the jersey is made from 100% recycled materials, combining performance with environmental responsibility. This state-of-the-art gear supports both the Women’s and Men’s Indian cricket teams in their quest for excellence.
