Xbox App Now Available on LG Smart TVs in Beta: Play Without a Console

LG Electronics has announced the rollout of the Xbox app for a select range of its smart TVs, allowing users to stream and play games directly without the need for a gaming console. This update is part of a broader partnership between LG and Microsoft that began earlier in 2025, aiming to make cloud gaming more accessible.

The Xbox app will be accessible via the LG Gaming Portal and LG Apps on TVs and monitors running webOS 24 or newer. Initially, the app is supported on 2022 LG OLED models and 2023 OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and UHD smart TVs, provided they have been updated to software version 23.20.01 or later.

To use the Xbox app, users must have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. However, LG has clarified that this service is not yet available in India.
