The Best Funny Movies You Must Watch in 2022
Blog Post
Comedy may be the most difficult genre to master of all the film genres. To be effective, a great horror picture must touch into a universal terror. Thrillers and action movies have the ability to directly appeal to the adrenal gland. Comedies, on the other hand, are more difficult. They need to strike their punchlines with deadly precision, regardless of the genre — romcom, satire, gross-out, teen, screwball. Here’s the list of binge-watch-worthy comedy movies! #TWN
The Best Comedies On Netflix
Don't you simply want something to make you chuckle as the world continues to fall apart? Netflix is quickly becoming the country's most popular source of humor after a tough week at work, but it might be difficult to locate exactly what you're looking for when you go on. As a result, we're here to assist you. Here is the list of best funny movies to watch in 2022!
21 Jump Street
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller made their live-action directing debuts with this buddy comedy from 2012, and it has no right to be as funny as it is. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum appear in this entertaining remake of the 1980s TV series, which explores perception, identity, and the best and worst of high school life.
About Time
The romantic comedy genre has been in decline for years, yet Hollywood still manages to come up with a smart spin on the tired template now and then. Take, for example, this Richard Curtis (Yesterday) film, in which Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams are at their most endearing. Gleeson plays a man who can travel back in time and uses it to change his romantic destiny, learning that it's better to take life one day at a time, flaws and all.
As Good As It Gets

Bad Teacher
On Netflix, Jake Kasdan's 2011 comedy has a devoted following, with it consistently ranking in the top 10 options. This is the story of a foul-mouthed middle school teacher who is terrible at her job, and it's the kind of adult comedy that may never be produced in theatres again. It serves as a bittersweet reminder of Cameron Diaz's retirement. She was hilarious when working on material that was worthy of her talents, and she frequently enhanced films that weren't.
Bad Trip
Eric Andre turns his prank-tastic schtick into a brilliant hidden camera comedy that focuses its Borat-esque energy on the good people of this country, those who are shocked by Andre’s ridiculous behavior and often reach out to help. Andre plays a Florida Guy who travels with his buddy (Lil Rel Howery) to chase after who he thinks is the love of his life. Tiffany Haddish steals the movie, but it’s the bystanders who make it work.
Barbershop
The low-budget film became a franchise with two sequels as audiences fell in love with this glimpse at barbershop culture in the Black community. The 2002 picture, directed by Tim Story, is pleasant and amusing, with a superb ensemble that includes Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, and Anthony Anderson. One can only imagine what they'd be discussing at the barbershop in 2020. Maybe it's time for a third installment?

Begin Again
This musical rom-com stars Mark Ruffalo as a record label executive who uncovers a potential superstar in Keira Knightley's singer-songwriter. It was directed by John Carney (Once). Carney finds compassion in the world of creative musical expression, as he did in Once, and gets pleasant performances from his two leads.
Chocolat
There was a time when romantic comedies set in Europe were all the rage. Chocolat, a 2000 dramedy based on Joanne Harris's 1999 novel of the same name, was one of the most successful. The narrative of Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche), who runs a chocolaterie in a small French village, is directed by Lasse Hallstrom. It was so successful that it was nominated for Best Picture, starring Judi Dench, Alfred Molina, Lena Olin, and Johnny Depp.
Dolemite is My Name
Eddie Murphy has returned! It's been a while since we've seen this Eddie, who reminds us of how witty and charismatic he can be when cast in the appropriate role. Rudy Ray Moore, a washed-up musician who changed himself into the character of Dolemite, was the showy personality who played that part. It is a tribute to DIY filmmaking, similar to The Disaster Artist and Ed Wood, and features not just Murphy but also Wesley Snipes and Keegan Michael Key.
The Edge of Seventeen
Great comedies portraying the tumultuous days of late adolescence, especially from a female perspective, are hard to come by. So it's a shame that this film starring Haley Lu Richardson, Hailee Steinfeld, and Woody Harrelson didn't get more attention. It's honest, funny, and grounded in life in a way that most films don't even try to be.
The Best Comedies On Amazon Prime
Everybody needs a good laugh now and then, and Amazon Prime provides a rotating collection of high-quality comedy for when you need to get away from the stresses of everyday life and unwind with a good chuckle. There's a little bit of everything on this list, from genre classics to Amazon originals to recent releases in theatres. Hopefully, at least a handful of them will tickle your funny bone just right.
Annie Hall
Do you know how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences avoids humor when it comes to awarding Oscars? Annie Hall won Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress, and even Best Picture this time. It's a model film for dozens of upcoming romantic comedies.
Big Daddy
After The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, the 1999 Adam Sandler comedy helped cement the Sandman's status as one of the world's top stars. In fact, Sandler's biggest non-animated box office smash, Big Daddy (about a slacker who ends up having to care for an actual child), is a reminder of when his comedy was released in cinemas rather than merely on Netflix (and when they were much, much funnier too).
The Big Sick
It's unusual for a breakout comedy to be so well-received and popular that it's nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, but The Big Sick isn't your normal comedy (and Holly Hunter was robbed of a nomination too). Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon star opposite Zoe Kazan in a sketchy adaptation of their own story. It's one of the most crowd-pleasing comedies ever made. It takes a special brand of a jerk to dislike it.
Bulworth
This fantastic black comedy from 1998, written, directed, and starring Warren Beatty, feels almost as timely today as it did when it was released. The iconic actor plays re-election campaigning California Senator who goes off the rails, expressing himself in ways that politicians aren't normally prone to. The Oscar-nominated screenplay by Warren Beatty is razor-sharp and hilarious.
Clerks
With a comedy that was shot for nearly nothing and became a worldwide sensation, Kevin Smith shocked the indie filmmaking industry. No one could have predicted that films from the convenience and video stores where Smith worked in real life with his friends would still be inspiring writers a quarter-century later.
Fargo
A narrative of violence and forgiveness in the great American North, Joel, and Ethan Coen's 1996 masterwork is one of the best films ever made. The Coen brothers won Best Original Screenplay, and Frances McDormand received her first Academy Award for her role as Marge Gunderson, a Minnesota cop who becomes enmeshed in a car salesman's clumsy incursion into the criminal world.
Garden State
Zach Braff's 2004 dramedy is a stronger film than its reputation, but it's become the poster boy for the worst of Sundance indie clichés. When a young guy returns home to attend his mother's funeral, the writer/director from Scrubs also stars him as a young man grappling with a quarter-life crisis. Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, and Ian Holm feature in the film that brought The Shins to the attention of thousands of people.
Heathers
In this witty spoof of high school life, Christian Slater makes a Jack Nicholson impression, while Winona Ryder is at the top of her '80s emo-charm. Slater plays the guy who teaches retribution is a dish best served with an attitude, while Ryder plays the school misfit.
His Girl Friday
Look, it's an ancient film! The truth is that there aren't many true masterpieces available on any streaming site, so you should take advantage of the opportunity to see a film starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell from before WWII. This Howard Hawks masterpiece about a reporter doing one more assignment with his ex-wife and (maybe) getting her back is one of the most amusing and influential comedies ever filmed.

Hot Rod
When Andy Samberg's first comedy was released, it didn't make a lot of money or draw a lot of notice, but as Lonely Island's renown increased, so did this film's reputation. Samberg plays a stuntman who strives to gather money to save his irascible father, Ian McShane, and possibly win his love in the process. It's a silly, humorous film that's stood up surprisingly well over time.
