News Synopsis

According to a report by the Times of London, the Starlink satellite system recently launched by Elon Musk is assisting an elite Ukrainian drone unit to destroy Russian weaponry. To watch Russian military vehicles like tanks and command trucks at night, the Aerorozvidka specialist air reconnaissance unit operates drones modified with thermal cameras. According to the British Newspaper, the drones have been modified to drop anti-tank grenades on targets. While speaking to the Times of London, an Aerorozvidka leader said: "If we use a drone with thermal vision at night, the drone must connect through Starlink to the artillery guy and create target acquisition." Starlink system makes sure that even in power or internet outages drone teams can carry out their missions. A couple of days after when Russia invaded Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's vice prime minister requested Elon Musk to provide a Starlink system to their country to which Musk happily complied. Since the beginning of this month, Ukraine has received at least four shipments of Starlink terminals.
