IPL 2025: Rohit Sharma Finds Form at the Right Time

The 2025 season of the IPL has seen a resurgence in Rohit's form. With two back-to-back fifties, the former MI captain has now scored 228 runs in eight innings. He averages 32.57 and has an impressive strike rate of 154.05 this season. Notably, this is his first set of consecutive IPL fifties since the 2016 season, where he had a similarly consistent run.

A Look Back at 2016 and Recent Form Trends

In the 2016 IPL, Rohit managed four 50+ scores in five matches and ended the season as the sixth-highest run-scorer, with 489 runs in 14 innings. Fast forward to IPL 2024 and beyond, he has shown a tendency to shine in run-chases. Since then, he has scored 532 runs in 15 chase innings at an average of 40.92 and a strike rate above 153. However, while setting a target, his numbers dip significantly—just 113 runs in seven innings at an average of 16.14.

MI Secure Fourth Win on the Bounce

Rohit’s innings proved crucial as Mumbai Indians chased down the target with ease, securing a seven-wicket win over SRH. The victory marked MI’s fourth consecutive win this season, boosting them to third place on the points table, thanks to an improved Net Run Rate (NRR). With their momentum building, MI look set to be a strong playoff contender.
