News Synopsis

Ola Electric has launched a groundbreaking initiative called #HyperDelivery, aimed at offering same-day registration and delivery of electric vehicles. Starting with a pilot rollout in Bengaluru, the company plans to expand the service across India in the coming months. Customers can now walk into an Ola Electric Store or place an order online and receive their fully registered EV within just a few hours.

End-to-End Digital Registration Process

The #HyperDelivery program streamlines the entire registration process, integrating it directly into Ola’s operational framework. By automating registration and removing third-party intermediaries, Ola Electric has significantly reduced vehicle delivery time. This move is part of the company’s broader effort to simplify the EV buying experience and boost consumer convenience.

Artificial Intelligence Powers Registration Efficiency

A key driver of this fast-track process is the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Ola Electric has deployed AI and internal automation to handle registration steps that were previously managed externally. This reduces human intervention, eliminates delays, and ensures a seamless customer experience from purchase to delivery.

According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, “We have optimized the registration process using AI and internal automation. #HyperDelivery simplifies vehicle purchase and delivery, ensuring faster processing for customers.”

National Expansion on the Horizon

While the service is currently live only in Bengaluru, Ola Electric plans to roll out the #HyperDelivery initiative across several major Indian cities in the current quarter. As the company refines the process and builds operational capacity, more customers will benefit from same-day vehicle handovers.

Ola Electric’s Manufacturing and Distribution Ecosystem

Ola Electric has built a robust infrastructure to support its EV ambitions. The company operates the Ola Futurefactory and is currently developing a large-scale EV manufacturing hub in Tamil Nadu, which will include the upcoming Ola Gigafactory for battery cell production.

Ola’s distribution network includes more than 4,000 stores across India, supported by a comprehensive online platform that facilitates EV bookings, financing, and after-sales services.

Addressing Registration-Related Controversies

In recent months, Ola Electric faced scrutiny over vehicle registration data discrepancies. While the company reported sales of over 25,000 electric scooters in February 2025, the government's Vahan portal reflected only around 8,600 registered units. Ola attributed this gap to unresolved issues with external registration vendors, leading to a temporary backlog in processing.

To resolve the matter, Ola Electric took significant steps to bring the registration process in-house. The company has now integrated AI-driven automation to avoid such issues in the future.

Legal Disputes with Vendors Resolved

Ola Electric Technologies Private Limited, a key subsidiary of Ola Electric Mobility Limited, was previously hit with insolvency petitions by Rosmerta Digital Services and Rosmerta Safety Systems—two major vendors responsible for registration and high-security number plates. The claims cited unpaid dues totaling ₹24.5 crore (approximately $3 million).

As of March 25, 2025, Ola Electric announced the full settlement of dues with the Rosmerta Group. Following this, the insolvency petitions filed with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Bengaluru were withdrawn. The company also confirmed that the registration backlog had been cleared and that it was cooperating with government authorities to provide any required data clarification.

Looking Ahead

With the launch of #HyperDelivery and a renewed focus on internal automation, Ola Electric is poised to offer a smoother, faster, and more transparent EV purchase experience. This initiative not only boosts consumer trust but also reinforces the company's commitment to innovation and operational excellence in India's evolving electric mobility landscape.
