News Synopsis

Mercedes-Benz has officially raised the prices of its E-Class luxury sedan in India, with the new rates applicable from the beginning of April 2025. This price revision affects the E200 and E220d variants, while the top-spec E 450 4Matic remains untouched.

The E-Class price update comes amid a broader trend in the Indian auto industry, where brands like Kia, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Nissan, and Tata Motors have also increased vehicle prices in response to rising input and operational costs.

Updated Ex-Showroom Prices for Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Post the latest revision, the pricing of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class variants is as follows:

  • E200: ₹79.50 lakh (up by ₹1 lakh)

  • E220d: ₹82.50 lakh (up by ₹1 lakh)

  • E 450 4Matic: ₹92.50 lakh (no change)

These prices are ex-showroom and apply across the country.

Powertrain Options: Petrol, Diesel & Mild-Hybrid Technology

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered with three different engine configurations – two petrol and one diesel – to suit varied performance needs:

  • E200 (Petrol): Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, it delivers 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque.

  • E220d (Diesel): Features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, generating 194 bhp and 440 Nm of torque.

  • E 450 4Matic (Petrol): Equipped with a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine, it produces an impressive 375 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.

All three variants come integrated with a 48V mild-hybrid system, enhancing fuel efficiency and power delivery. A 9-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup, ensuring smooth gear shifts and a refined driving experience.

Feature Highlights: Superscreen, Climate Tech, and Premium Comfort

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class remains one of the most tech-rich sedans in the luxury segment. Its interior boasts the brand’s cutting-edge Superscreen layout, offering three integrated displays:

  • 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster

  • 14.4-inch Central Infotainment Touchscreen

  • 12.3-inch Passenger Display

In the rear cabin, power-adjustable seats offer exceptional comfort, with 40mm of lift and up to 36-degree recline. The four-zone automatic climate control system replaces conventional vents, with digital controls for airflow and temperature adjustment.

Additional Premium Features

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • 64-colour ambient lighting

  • Wireless charging pads (front and rear)

  • 730W Burmester sound system

  • Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function

These features enhance the E-Class’s appeal to buyers looking for technology, luxury, and driving comfort in a single package.

Rising Costs Trigger Price Adjustments Across Brands

Mercedes-Benz’s decision to raise prices aligns with a broader automotive trend this April. Several manufacturers have cited increasing raw material costs, higher freight charges, and inflation-related factors as the driving force behind price hikes across various vehicle categories.

Conclusion

Despite the price increase, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class continues to offer strong value through advanced technology, refined powertrains, and a premium in-cabin experience. With competitors also revising prices, the E-Class remains a compelling choice in the luxury executive sedan segment.
