New Carens Variant to Launch on May 8
To commemorate the 1.5 million mark, Kia India has announced the launch of an upgraded version of the Carens, scheduled for May 8. The company promises that the refreshed model will be smarter, safer, and more advanced, emphasizing Kia’s commitment to offering innovative, future-ready mobility solutions tailored to Indian consumers.
Leadership Remarks on the Milestone
Expressing pride in the achievement, Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, stated, “Rolling out our 1.5 millionth ‘Make in India’ vehicle is a proud and emotional moment for Kia India and every partner who has been a part of this journey. From the first Seltos to the 1.5 millionth Carens today, each vehicle represents the love and trust of our customers.”

Kia India continues to build on its momentum by expanding its product range. Earlier in 2025, the brand launched the Syros, a sleek and stylish compact SUV aimed at urban Indian drivers. This move reflects Kia’s strategy to meet the evolving needs of the Indian automotive market.
Strong Market Debut Since 2019
Since making its debut in August 2019 with the Seltos, Kia India has made significant strides in the Indian market. With a focus on premium quality, technological advancements, and a customer-centric approach, Kia has carved out a space in a competitive market within a short span.
World-Class Manufacturing at Anantapur Plant
The Anantapur facility, sprawling across 536 acres, is recognized as one of India’s most technologically advanced automotive plants. It not only fulfills domestic demand but also serves as a key export hub, shipping vehicles to over 90 countries globally.
Production Breakdown Across Models
Among Kia India’s lineup, the Seltos continues to lead with 700,668 units produced, accounting for 46.7% of total production. The Sonet follows with 519,064 units (34.6%), while the Carens has reached 241,582 units (16.1%). The Syros and Carnival have contributed 23,036 (1.5%) and 16,172 (1.1%) units respectively.
