News Synopsis

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has introduced a free online course for students called "Overview of Space Science and Technology," which aims to educate students on various elements of space science and technology. The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is offering a free online education to both Indian and international students as part of the Massive Open Online Course  (MOOC).

The online course from ISRO is available for both Indian and foreign students above the age of 10 years. To apply for the online course, students must first visit the IIRS website and register. Students will then get credentials through email, allowing them to participate in the sessions.

The course will start on June 6, 2022 and end on July 5, 2022. It is a 10-hour course with online videos in English that students can watch. The course can be viewed numerous times, and once the student has completed the videos, a quiz will be administered.

The online course will be conducted by eminent space scientists from the country. Students who have a 70% attendance and have scored a minimum of 60% in the quiz will be eligible to get a certificate from IIRS ISRO.
