News Synopsis

Two outstanding teachers namely, Satyam Mishra, a Mathematics teacher from Bihar, and Meghana Musunuri, a Social Study, English and Maths teacher from Hyderabad secured the top 50 shortlists for 2021’s 1 million Global Teacher Prize. The news got out on Thursday. It was organized by the Varkey Foundation collaborating with UNESCO. Satyam had a determined thought of changing the way children are visualizing the world. He prefers using amazing multiplication techniques to make his students learn and enjoy at the same time. Meghana has been described as one of the successful teachers being a philanthropist, chairperson of Fountainhead Global School and Junior College. She is also an education futurist along with guiding female entrepreneurs in creating an online existence on Social media platforms. The winner of this Prize will be taken care of by the Global Teacher Prize Academy and will be disclosed at an award ceremony in Paris in November. The goal is to create a transformation in today’s youth. Teachers and students who deserve recognition for their efforts and hard work are being brought to focus as said by Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO.
