News Synopsis

After creating history at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Indian athletes are taking the baton forward with Paralympics. The latest win by Bhavaniben Patel in Table Tennis is the perfect example of it. She created history at the international events with her skill and held her ground in front of Zhou Ying, one of China’s most talented TT players. Although Bhavaniben lost, it is the fact that she gave her opponent tough competition that matters. Her Silver medal has made the whole country proud of her achievements.

Although Paralympics is also an international event like the Olympics, it doesn’t get that much celebrated because of the collective neglect of our society. But it is athletes like Bhavaniben who are challenging people’s collective ignorance towards Paralympics and disable athletes. This is historic in many ways. Despite the fact, that these players don’t get any support from the government or society and they go on to achieve such great things is a testimony to their talent and passion.
