The giant company Tata Motors has launched its popular hatchback car Tata Tiago in an electric avatar. The electric vehicle Tata Tiago EV was officially launched in the country on Wednesday at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has announced that this is the introductory price of the car and is valid only for the first 10,000 bookings. That is, the price of Tata Tiago EV may increase in the future. This is the fourth EV model from Tata Motors after the Nexon EV, Nexon EV Max, and Tigor EV.
But unlike these three models, the Tiago EV is believed to be a model that will take battery-powered mobility technology to the masses. Tata Motors has said that the bookings for the Tiago EV will start from October 10 and this price is valid only for the first 10,000 bookings. The deliveries of the Tiago EV will start in January next year.
Also, out of the first 10,000 bookings, 2,000 are reserved for existing customers of Tata EV passenger vehicles. The range offered by the Tiago EV with a 24 kWh unit battery is around 315 km. While the Tiago EV can run up to 250 km with a 19.2 kWh battery. These driving range figures are for testing conditions. In terms of speed, the Tiago EV is based on the company's Ziptron high-voltage architecture that uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. This car can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds. It has two drive modes.
