Puma, the sportswear company, announced on Tuesday the launch of a mobile shopping app in India to enhance digital offerings for consumers and provide faster access to its products.
''India is the first country to go live with the Puma app developed by the German sportswear giant,'' the company said in a statement. With this move, Puma, the country's leading sports brand, has renewed its investment in India as a high priority market.
The company said,''Puma earned record revenue of Rs 2,044 crore in India during the financial year ending December 2021 at a 68.2 percent jump over the previous fiscal. The brand also added 51 stores last year and has a total of 450 stores in the country so far."
According to Puma CEO Bjorn Gulden, India is a very important market, and the local team has done an outstanding job in establishing Puma as the country's No. 1 sports brand. "Because India is a very digitally savvy market with high e-commerce penetration, we felt it was natural to launch the app here first. "It will then be rolled out globally throughout the year," he explained. Puma India and Southeast Asia Managing Director Abhishek Ganguly stated that the app will provide consumers with a faster, more seamless, and more convenient digital shopping experience.
