Oppo’s recent patents have revealed three new designs with a secondary display. All three designs include a rear-mounted secondary display that is built right into the camera island of the phone.
In the images released, all three designs have a tiny circular secondary display at the centre of the rear camera and in another phone, the display is in square shape. The third smartphone design can have a larger display underneath the camera setup. It is still not confirmed if the display is touch-sensitive or not.
Other than this, the company has also filed a patent for a smart ring. The patent for the smart ring received approval from Chinese authorities. The ring is described as a fashion addition to the Oppo Air Glass that was recently announced by the company.
Oppo Air Glass is an assisted reality device, which supports user interactions and is equipped with a self-developed spark micro-projector. Oppo Air Glass is inspired by the wings of Cicada, featuring a waveguide design. It has a lightweight and minimalist appearance.
