Odisha Government announces 15% Subsidy for Electric Vehicles

News Synopsis

The government of Odisha has taken a big step in the field of electric vehicles. The government has announced a subsidy of 15% on the purchase of electric vehicles. According to the notification issued in this regard, a maximum of Rs 5,000 with a limit of 15% over the subsidy cost on two-wheelers, Rs 10,000 with a limit of 15% on three-wheelers and four-wheelers, but a subsidy of Rs 50,000 will be available.

The subsidy will be applicable from September 1 and this amount will be deposited by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries at the time of registration of the vehicle. 

According to the notification issued by the Commerce and Transport Department on Monday, this scheme will remain in force till December 31, 2025. A portal will also be created to monitor the information related to Sales, Purchase Incentive Deposit, and Loan Subsidy.
