A new Whatsapp update has been in the news for a very long time. This update is said to be a crucial one since it is the first update after Whatsapp rolled out its payment feature. This new update will roll out on 1 November and the major change it will bring is that it won’t support old mobile phones with outdated software. Whatsapp support for these old phones will stop and there’s nothing they can do about it. They will either have to stop using the app or buy a new phone even though their phone is in great working condition. The other option and the more viable one is to wait for a new smartphone software update that may meet the requirements of Whatsapp. This decision is cruel in many ways since the users didn’t know if this change early on to figure out their business.
The OS that Whatsapp has said will support the new version of the app is Android OS 4.1 and iPhone OS 10. Amongst the list of smartphones that will no longer support Whatsapp are iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend 2, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Ace 2, etc.
