On Monday, the popular Global study-abroad platform, Leverage Edu announced that it has raised $22 million in its latest fundraising round. This fundraising round saw participation from a consortium of funds, family offices, and individual angels as well. With this round of funding, the valuation of Leverage Edu has reached around $120 million. Investors which participated in this funding round included Kaizenvest Private Equity, DSP Mutual Fund Group, Artha India Ventures, UAE-based NB Ventures, and 9Unicorns. Existing investors such as Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Tomorrow Capital, also participated in this. Founder and chief executive of Leverage Edu, Akshay Chaturvedi said: “We have grown more than 12-fold in revenue between February 2021 and 2022, and have crossed an annualized revenue milestone of $20 million. The team has cut customer acquisition costs with over 20% of our business now coming from referrals. Another 35% comes from a bunch of slick product-channels like virtual fair platform UniConnect, IELTS-prep product Leverage Live, among others.” Leverage Edu was founded in the year 2017 with the aim to help aspiring students get admission in foreign universities. The company said that the funds raised will be used for growth in Australia, India, and Nigeria to bolster its student network and look at an initial launch in new countries, including the US.
