News Synopsis

A Texas lawsuit has accused the tech giant, Google of manipulating the advertising marketplace with a digital advertising monopoly that increased the cost of the advertisers. According to the report, the company has harmed the ad industry competitors and publishers.

Google started a secret project named Project Bernanke in 2013. The project was named after former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke. The report claims that the new programme rigged the market with second-highest bids from publishers’ advertising auctions. The company used the historical data to adjust the online advertising bids and boost their chances of winning auctions for impressions.

It is claimed that Google has generated nearly 270 million pounds every year from this project. A publisher has said that they suspected Google was running a rigged game but they never expected it to be utterly dishonest to their publisher and advertising clients.
